  31. ending in the extension “.FLI”. FLI files are displayed as a sequence of 
  32. “frames” each 320 pixels wide x 200 pixels high with each pixel 8 bits in 
  33. depth (256 colors) which are played in a continuous loop. The result is a 
  34. short animated movie. FLI player requires Color Quickdraw and a color 
  35. monitor. A FLI file consists of a 128 byte header followed by a sequence of
  36. frames. Each frame consists of a frame header and zero or more “chunks”.

  43. Mac to draw sprite-based animations. The utility came about because I am a 
  44. Mac and Super Nintendo game developer and the artists I work with find it 
  45. almost impossible to draw animating objects with applications like Painter,
  46. Studio/32, Photoshop, etc. because none of them have any kind of animation 
  47. features. All you’ve got to do is copy each frame from your drawing program
  48. and then select either Add, Replace, or Insert in AnimHelp to include the 
  49. frame in the current animation sequence. That’s all you really need to 
  50. know. The rest is self explanatory. (See Help in the Apple Menu for more 
  51. stuff). Lets you create 8/16/ or 32 bit animations from any art program.

  121. in a selected folder. It has some special effects. I am posting this for 
  122. those of you who may have lost the use of SlideShow, or Carosel (two older 
  123. paint showers) when new systems and hardware forced them out. This one 
  124. works on the mid-range Macs, but NOT on the LCII. It is untested on the 
  125. Quadra family. I am also posting it in hopes that a programmer out there 
  126. will notice it and develop everyone a shareware utility for cycling COLOR 
  127. PICT files - without the need for an FPU - in slideshow, screen saver 
  128. fashion.

  135. compiles them in alpahnumeric order in a PICS file that can be imported 
  136. into an animation program such as MacroMedia Director. After the initial 
  137. screen, you will be presented with a standard save dialog asking you for 
  138. the name of the PICS file. Enter the name and click Save. Next you will be 
  139. presented with a standard open dialog. Select any PICT in the folder that 
  140. you want to compile and click OPEN. The program will proceed to save all of
  141. the PICTS into the PICS file and return you to the finder. Double click on 
  142. the new PICS file and it will launch Macromind Director, where you may 
  143. import the PICS file into your cast. Have fun.

  368. use programs that generate sequentially-numbered file names (mostly 
  369. animation programs. This program will add or remove a prefix from the name,
  370. and add or remove leading zeros from the file number. Why bother? Some 
  371. programs output file names as MyFile.001, but others do it as MyFile.1, 
  372. which screws up the alphabetical nature of the file names after 10 files.  
  373. If you want to batch process the files, or enter them into a videotaping 
  374. program, it helps to have them in alphabetical order.

  408. self-playing Quickpics file when extracted....just double-click. Thought
